Adrien Sauvage – Creative Director

1983 — Adrien Victor Sauvage is born on May 30th in London, England, where he spends his entire youth.

1995 — At the age of 12 he is asked to represent England Cadet men's basketball.

2002 — Sauvage retired from his pre-destined life as a track star and turned his back on professional basketball at the age of 19.

2003 — Sauvage moves to central London and works with exclusive women's boutiques and renown department stores.

2007 — Sauvage begins working as a stylist and image consultant under the name of Untitled Muse with female clients of a socially high standing position. Whilst working with these clients, Sauvage began to style the husbands of his clients and quickly moved from styling to designing when he saw that their sartorial needs could not be met. With no formal training, Sauvage created looks which were in keeping with his mantra ‘D.E’ – Dress Easy.

2010 — Opens the A. Sauvage fashion house and presents his first collection on February 14th. Within the same year, Sauvage begins shooting a case study on individualism, his ongoing photography project ‘Captains and Natives’ with subjects who would not normally be seen in suits.

2011 — Adrien Sauvage directs his first short film 'This Is Not A Suit' which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival as part of the Official Selection.

2011 — Designs the Black Volta collection featuring the Kente Tuxedo, and returns back to Ghana after 11 years to shoot the collection on his family and friends.

2012 — Sauvage opens his first flagship store on 48 Maddox Street in London's Mayfair on May 9.

2012 — Sauvage directs his second film, 'The Student'. Voiced by Larry Lamb and featuring Craig Roberts, the short film centers on the A. Sauvage x Dr Martens collaboration, which is the brand's foray into footwear.

2016 — Sauvage closes his studio in London and relocates to Los Angeles, where he opens a studio in Beverley Hills. His focus is now towards the launch of his womenswear collection, 'Menswear for Women'.

2018 — the House launches 'Menswear for Women' with a list of esteemed clients.
